Legacies Change Lives: Dylan Cahill

The moment Dylan Cahill stepped foot on the 蹤獲扦 Campus, he knew that 蹤獲扦 was the place for him. Born and raised in Texas, Dylan visited Northeast Ohio for family gatherings and always felt a connection.

After his mother passed away in 2020, he wasnt sure how he could afford a college education. With the help of scholarships, including the George and Lynda Grieves Scholarship, Dylan is now a junior at 蹤獲扦 State pursuing a major in hospitality management with a minor in American Sign Language. He is also a member of the American Sign Language Club and the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society.

This scholarship is not just a donation, but an investment in my success, Dylan said. I would like to commit to scholarships in the future and give others the opportunities Ive had.

When Dylan was a first-year student in the Provosts Leadership Academy at 蹤獲扦 State, he and his team developed ideas to improve food service at the 蹤獲扦 Campus and make it easier for people with hearing and visual impairments. Both of his parents were hearing impaired, and their experiences inspired him to make a difference for others.

Working all year on it and finally presenting it at the end made me realize what impact I can make on campus, Dylan said.

Dylans goal is to open his own sports bar and restaurant in the future. He wants to create an inclusive environment at his establishment, with a special focus on catering to people with hearing impairments.
