Taste of Home Competition Announces Winning Recipe

Taste of Home winner蹤獲扦s Dining Services recently hosted its annual Taste of Home competition and announced the winning dish: a turkey chili recipe submitted by Debbie McKinney, a 蹤獲扦 State parent.

The Taste of Home competition encourages students family members to submit recipes of their students favorite home-cooked meals for the chance to have it served on campus.

According to the Taste of Home webpage, 蹤獲扦 State believes parents and grandparents are the best resource available to make our local menu more like home.

McKinney surprised her daughter, Dana McKinney, a first-year photo illustration major, with the contest win.

I honestly didnt know that my mom entered the contest, Dana McKinney says. She didnt tell me, so I was really excited when she did explain what it was, and I was surprised.

McKinneys chili was served at Eastway Caf矇 on Sept. 16 and in the Division of Student Affairs loge for 蹤獲扦 States football game on Sept. 17.

I love her turkey chili, like all my friends and family do, Dana McKinney says. Its her thing, and I was really excited and happy for her. Shes a really good cook.

Students can submit recipes year-round through the Taste of Home submission form.

The plan enhances the welcoming feel of the universitys iconic Front Campus and genuine sense of place, elevates inclusive healthy living-learning environments, links a campus-wide series of spaces focused on innovation and expands the dynamic synergy with the city of 蹤獲扦.

Oscar-nominated actor Michael Keaton will return to the campus he once walked as a student while dreaming about making it big in Hollywood. The leading man who has inspired millions in iconic roles on the big screen will now inspire thousands of new 蹤獲扦 State graduates as he delivers the commencement address May 12 during 蹤獲扦 States university-wide Commencement ceremony.

The "Sandy's Scrapbook" Exhibition is on display at 蹤獲扦's May 4 Visitors Center.
Sandy Scheuer was on her way to class on May 4, 1970, when she was shot and killed by Ohio National Guardsmen responding to protests of the Vietnam War at 蹤獲扦. Now, almost 50 years later, Ms. Scheuers life will be the subject of a new exhibit at the May 4 Visitors Center at 蹤獲扦 State.
