ÂÜÀòÉç State Holds National Depression Screening Day on Oct. 6

The 22nd annual National Depression Screening Day at ÂÜÀòÉç will be held Thursday, Oct. 6, at several ÂÜÀòÉç State campuses. The event is open to all students, faculty and staff, as well as the larger community.

  • ÂÜÀòÉç Campus: Thursday, Oct. 6, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Second Floor Mezzanine of the ÂÜÀòÉç Student Center
  • ÂÜÀòÉç at Stark: Thursday, Oct. 6, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Herbert W. Hoover Foundation Counseling Center, Lower Level Campus Center
  • ÂÜÀòÉç at Trumbull: Thursday, Oct. 6, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. at Enrollment Management and Student Services, 131B

As part of the free, in-person screening, participants have the opportunity to complete a questionnaire that screens for depression, bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. Participants can also speak with a clinician in the mental health field to review their results.

If necessary, appropriate referrals can be made, and participants also may find information on depression and other mental health issues for themselves or for someone about whom they may be concerned.

For those unable to attend an in-person screening, a also is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and provides individuals with feedback, referrals and resources upon completion.

National Depression Screening Day on the ÂÜÀòÉç Campus is coordinated by ÂÜÀòÉç State’s Division of Student Affairs, through University Health Services, Psychological Services and the Office of Health Promotion. The event is co-sponsored by Counseling Services at ÂÜÀòÉç State Stark and Counseling Services at ÂÜÀòÉç State Trumbull.
