蹤獲扦 State Today showcases the university's most striking images from 2025, as captured by staff photographers Bob Christy, Rami Daud and Mike Rich, and their student colleagues, throughout a year of academic achievement, campus celebrations and student success. 

  • Last summer, 12 蹤獲扦 State students in the university's Visual Communication Design program worked with Route Eight Studios to learn about the real-world challenges artists face in creating comic books. "Flash Fiction" is the result - an anthology of stories written and illustrated by students creators. 

  • During the commencement ceremony for the Fall Class of 2025, 蹤獲扦 State President Todd Diacon discusses how commencement is more than the ceremony on the stage. At commencement, the stage is where its at, but the ramp is who we are, he said.

  • Two faculty members from 蹤獲扦s School of Media and Journalism have won top honors at the Oscar-qualifying St. Louis International Film Festival for a short film that tackles the complex issue of elder abuse. The film stars Oscar nominee Barkhad Abdi, known for his role in Captain Phillips, as a rideshare driver who encounters an elderly woman struggling to secure housing after being displaced from a nursing home.

Sports

  • 蹤獲扦 announced today that womens wrestling will become the athletics departments 20th varsity sport, marking a historic addition to the Golden Flashes athletics lineup and a milestone for collegiate athletics in Ohio. 蹤獲扦 State becomes the first NCAA Division I institution in the state and fifth in the nation to sponsor womens wrestling.

  • The 蹤獲扦 State Men's Basketball team (7-1) extended their win streak to seven in a row on Saturday night defeating Penn State Shenango by a final score of 123-59. Nearly every Golden Flash scored as seven players tallied double-digits.

  • 蹤獲扦 State scored on its first possession in overtime to defeat Akron 42-35. It's the Golden Flashes' first win in the rivalry since 2022 and allows 蹤獲扦 State to regain control of the coveted wagon wheel.
