This fall, 4,023 first-year students joined the ������ Campus, marking the fourth time in five years that an incoming class has surpassed 4,000. The Class of 2029 brings a vibrant mix of experiences, perspectives and aspirations, poised to shape the future of the university and beyond.

Ashanti Mallit's childhood fascination with aviation led her to ������ State, where she is now a professional pilot major. She discovered ������ State through the United Aviate Program, a career development initiative that helps aspiring pilots transition to United Airlines as first officers.

A new film installation by artist Naeem Mohaiemen is attracting international attention for its exploration of the events of May 4, 1970, at ������, and their lasting influence on American political and cultural identity.

October is cybersecurity awareness month, and ������’s information security team is informing students and staff about how to stay safe online through four weeks of interactive fun with the chance to win some amazing rewards. The goal, of course, is year-round attention to cyber threats.

������ has earned an AASHE STARS Silver rating for its ongoing commitment to campus sustainability, a step up from the bronze rating on the past submission, thanks to the Office of Sustainability and its numerous initiatives.

The new fund will support university and Porthouse productions, the hiring of assistant directors, guest choreographers and guest artists, the hosting of master classes and the awarding of artistic merit-based scholarships to students. Students who receive such scholarships will be known as Roe Green Scholars.

Creating e-textiles – electronic textiles that can be used to integrate wearable technology into clothing that is comfortable and practical – is the topic of a hands-on, maker workshop and a lecture in ������’s Design Innovation (DI) Hub in collaboration with ������ State’s School of Fashion.

������’s School of Theatre and Dance, Wick Poetry Center and Brain Health Research Institute joined forces for an Oct. 1 dance performance that set poetry to motion.

This year’s Homecoming theme is Flash’s Birthday Bash, and in honor of this, those who formerly served as Flash mascots have been named this year’s Homecoming Parade Grand Marshals.  

������ State's Spacecraft Design Lab is the location where a group of 35 ������ State undergraduates and nine graduate students in the AstroFlashes space exploration club are designing, building, and testing satellites and spacecraft components, and competing in space engineering challenges.

The wetlands near ������ State's ������ Campus are a great location for studying wildlife. Researchers visited recently to install nesting boxes for ducks. 

Jason Lorenzon, J.D., assistant professor of aeronautics at ������, was recently featured on 93.5 WAKR’s Ray Horner Morning Show and detailed the new changes coming to the ������ State airport.
